Sports is the backbone of many a life lessons such as realizing the true meaning of competition, fair play, and sporting spirit. HCL, as a part of its community initiatives, has taken it upon itself to promote sports and do its bit to inculcate a spirit of sportsmanship in society.

Tennis

HCL announces the launch of HCL Tennis Junior Tour and Masters from 29th August to 30th September & 14th – 19th November, 2016 across Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Pune and Greater Noida. HCL Tennis Junior Tour is being organized under the aegis of All India Tennis Association (AITA) and is supported by the respective state tennis associations. Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academies (MBTA) is the Knowledge Partner for the Junior Tour and Masters. The tour is divided into two categories – Singles and Doubles playoffs for U/12 and U/14, for both boys and girls. The winners in both U/12 and U/14 categories will be sent to a week-long all-expense paid training session to the Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain. The runners-up will be sent to MBTA’s high-performance center in Kochi for an all-expenses paid two weeks training program.

Bridge

Bridge is a strategy game that teaches one to be of a tougher mindset, to use one's intellect to maximum capacity, communicate powerfully and to pursue victory diligently. It is these qualities that makes bridge a perfect fit for HCL.

HCL has been strongly supporting the game in India for the last thirteen years through the HCL International Bridge Championship held every year in New Delhi, India. The championship has seen one of the largest participation levels in the country, and it has grown every year.

The total prize money for 2016 Championship is Rs. 12.1 Million (USD 180,000), the 2nd highest prize money in any Bridge tournament worldwide. The 14th HCL International Bridge Championship will be held from 19th October – 23rd October, 2016 at JW Marriott Hotel, Aerocity New Delhi.

Football

HCL is a strategic and marketing partner of the Subroto Cup, an All India Inter School Football Tournament that aims to promote football across India's schools at the grassroots level.

The Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society launched the Subroto Cup in 1960 after the untimely demise of (Late) Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee, a keen football lover. The tournament witnesses unprecedented participation – 1436 players, 91 teams (13 international teams), has a social media reach of over 3 lakh people, and the final matches are attended by over 5000 spectators.
